About the app
What is HeDian?
HeDian is a cocktail recipe companion designed for home enthusiasts. Browse a curated set of IBA classics and contemporary recipes (kept current), track what you have on your shelf, see what you can mix tonight, and save or build your own recipes.
Is HeDian free?
Every feature is free right now: browse recipes, manage your bar, find drinks you can make, save favourites, and build your own recipes. Future pricing is still being thought through, and any change will be announced in advance.
Which languages are supported?
The app interface and recipe content are available in Simplified Chinese and English. HeDian follows your device language automatically.
What iOS versions does HeDian support?
HeDian supports iOS 17.0 and later.
Does it work on iPad?
Yes. HeDian is a Universal App — one download works on both iPhone and iPad, with a wider three-column layout on iPad.
Accounts and data
Do I need an account?
No. Favourites, your bar, and personal recipes all work without signing in. Data lives on your device and syncs through your own iCloud account. Accounts are optional and reserved for future premium features.
Will I lose my local data?
Your favourites, bar, and personal recipes are stored on-device and backed up through iCloud (sign in to iCloud to enable). Uninstalling and reinstalling normally restores everything.
Is my data secure?
We take your data seriously. Local data lives only on your device and in your own iCloud. We don't sell or share your personal information with third parties. See our Privacy Policy for details.
Using the app
How do I add ingredients to my bar?
Open the Bar tab, tap the add button in the top-right, then search and select the bottles you own. No sign-in required — data stays on-device.
What does "Can make now" mean?
"Can make now" lists every drink whose ingredients are all in your current bar. Find it as a filter on the home screen — the more bottles in your bar, the more recipes unlock.
How do I create my own recipe?
On the You tab, tap the plus button in the top-right to open the recipe editor. Add a name, ingredients with amounts, and the steps, then save. No sign-in needed — recipes stay on-device.
